The intent of the Jamboree has been to provide U11/U12 teams an opportunity to
play several scrimmages in the 11-aside format prior to the start of the Oahu
League Winter season. Though the games will be shorter in length (20 minute
halves) from the Oahu League season, the Jamboree does offer a chance for teams
to get more game experience before the start of the upcoming season. Each team
will play at least 3 games over the course of the day against teams of similar
levels. Obviously we do not want to match a newly formed U11 team against one of
the top U12 Boys teams, but we do encourage girls and boys teams to play against
each other. If you would prefer not to play against the opposite gender, please
let us know, and we will make every attempt to accommodate you.
All players participating MUST have signed HYSA membership forms to participate
in this event. Please have those forms available at the Jamboree in case an
emergency arises. Player passes and league game cards will not be necessary as
all teams will be on the honor system to ensure that their players are
registered with HYSA. Players may participate on multiple rosters within their
same club, but please use the best discretion for the safety of the players as
it may not be in their best interest to play in 6 games!! Substitution rules
will be relaxed allowing the coaches more flexibility over the course of the
games. There will be no scores or standings recorded at this event as such
activity does not coincide with the purpose of the Jamboree.
U10 teams will be permitted to enter the Jamboree, but they will be playing
11-Aside just like everyone else. The U10 teams that enter the Jamboree will be
matched up against other U10 teams and/or new U11 teams. U9 teams will not be
permitted to participate.
We will try to post a schedule by next Thursday morning (Dec 7). If you are
interested in participating in the event, please mail in the roster and respond
to this email. Receipt of payment ($80 per team) will guarantee your team being
